5 Sales Campaign Ideas to Launch in 2020

With the rush of the holiday season over, it’s time to start focusing on how to help your winery win in 2020. Over the last year, we’ve been helping our clients to identify areas where they could be serving their customers better, and crafting campaigns aimed at helping them reengage with those customers. Whether you’ve got customers that have slipped through the cracks, or simply could be buying more if someone gave them a call, here are a few great campaign ideas you can run this year to give your wine sales the jolt you’ve been looking for.

1. Credit Card Capture

With credit card fraud only getting worse, a calling campaign to capture declined credit cards is an easy way to win back a customer. There’s a good chance they simply forgot to call to update their information, and will appreciate that you reached out. If you’re like many wineries who have a list of expired credit cards that have stacked up over time, this is one calling campaign you should seriously consider.

2. Club for a Day

Make use of that list of customers who have visited over the summer, or a long-time customer who has never become a club member. Give them a call and show them what a club membership has to offer. They’ll appreciate the extra effort you’ve made to make them feel special, and even if they decide not to become a club member in the end—you can still sell them wine!

3. Club Shipment Follow Up

Give your club members some extra love. They’ll likely appreciate that you reached out and be more than happy to give you feedback. This campaign is a great one to run closer to the holidays since you can always ask if they need any extra wine for gifts and holiday parties.

4. Local Customer Order Pick-up

Over the summer months when it gets too hot to ship in many places, it’s the perfect time to shift your focus to local customers. And during the summer months, there’s a good chance your customers will have family visiting from out of town. Giving them an offer for 2 for 1 wine tastings is a great way to increase foot-traffic. The more people they bring in, the more wine you can sell!

5. Former Club Member

You know they’re already a fan of your wine, so giving former club members a call is always a good idea. It gives you a chance to get a little more information about why they’re no longer a club member and it gives them a chance to re-join your wine club. In many cases, even if they’re not interested in being in your wine club again, they’ll still love hearing from you and be happy to order a case of wine.

These are just a few campaign ideas you could get off the ground in 2020. Crafting a customized campaign can really help your winery to focus on areas where you could be improving sales the most.
